  1. I've lived in Switzerland for 7 years now. When we moved it was for an unknown period, 2 years and then we'll see--now it looks pretty permanent (but who knows?). I know for the first few years it was really the not knowing if it was short-term or long-term that stressed me out, other that that--yes absolutely. Especially if you've never lived in Europe.

  2. My best friend is from Geneva so I have been there many times to visit her. She previously lived in San Francisco &  New York so I think the transition was a bit harsh - although Geneva (and Switzerland) is beautiful it seems to be much 'quieter' than America. She found it more difficult to make friends and life is very expensive & as previously said orderly. So after 2 years, she decided to move to London, which she loves! Personally, I love to visit but would not want to live there for more than a year.

So it would be a great experience, especially if you are into sking etc... But maybe not for 3 years!!

  3. I live already since 7 years here, so I would say yes

  4. Yes, it would be lovely to live there.

  5. Yes...and 3 years...maybe longer.

  6. Hi

I think yes but I'm Swiss so I'm not sure if that counts... If you like sports, good food and nature - you'll have fun.

  7. You'll probably get a thousand different answers from a thousand people if you ask such an indifferent question. Why don't you specify what exactly you want to know? If you don't consider to do so, listen to my experience: It's a perfect police state, although that the landscape is quite nice. People as such are cold and pretty racist. Well, I know I'll now get some thumbs down for this remark - but reconsider first before doing so...

  8. I have been there.  I stayed for about a week and I have to say that of all the coutnries I have been to, this was definately my favorite. I would love to live there!!

  9. No I have not.  I would say from what I know about it that it would be nice as long as you like cold long winters and can handle high altitudes as most of the country is in the mountains.

  10. switzerland is a beautiful country, but it depends where you wish to settle down.

swiss German part would be the best choice.

  11. It depends where you are from on how you would view it. I was there some time ago and found it both charming and eccentric; very expensive, very orderly and great chocolate! The cities are quaint compared to big US cities and the countryside is just gorgeous.
