I'm going to get a C1D visa and don't really know what to expect at the embassy?

Also do you think I need to dress smart for it or just normal clothes?

Has anyone ever filled in the DS-156 form, do you think its really hard to fill in?

  1. 1) What to expect? A really long wait and an anti-climax. Your interview will last about 5-7 minutes, although expect to be at the embassy for about 90 minutes. Bring a book.

    2) Dress presentable, no need for over the top clothes but don't go like a bum either. Pants, shoes and top will do just fine and you will be one of the better dressed people there. Be prepared also in case there is rain or bad weather, you may end up queuing outside waiting to go in.

    3) DS-156, is straight forward.

  2. Just be confidence :)

    Good luck!

  3. No i haven't

just lots of people in lines i guess

    semi formal

no - probably not hard but may be a bit time consuming and need annoying things like photos or copies of other documents etc

  4. Just dress decently, and yes - make sure you have absolutely every piece of paperwork that you need/

  5. Dont bother its like an interview with the police

  6. My aunt just recently went to one, but she spoke through a glass.. so, they don't really see your dressings. But proper grooming always says something positive about a person. :)

    Good Luck!

  7. Absolutely!

  8. You can wear anything, but I would dress well as you are representing yourself.  Be prepared to wait in line and make sure you have every single piece of paper you could possibly need with you.

  9. It is quite relaxed. Smart casual would be the best option.
