  1. Yes, I have.

    Any other question?

  2. Yes, a couple of years ago a friend and I flew to Mex. City, rented a car, and drove up to SMdA, found a great room for about $29.  And it was fun to walk around the old town center, the markets, and restaurants were good, too.  We went to Guanajuato, too, about an hour away, more authentic Mexican, whereas SM has an international population; lots of North Americans and Europeans come to study art at the Allende Institute, but it still keeps it's charm and doesn't seem overly touristy.  The climate was great and we went to a place that was like a park with swimming pools and hot springs.  It was just a few miles north of SM (on the highway to Dolores Hidalgo).  I highly recommend a trip to SM and Guanajuato, too, just an hour apart.  Guanajuato has a cool Mummy Museum "Las Momias" and the town is very picturesque with houses all over the hills (almost looks like Positano), and some underground roads/tunnels made of old brick.

The closest airport to both places is Leon, but I recommend just going from Mex. City.  You can catch buses that are A/C and comfortable and cheap.  Or rent a car if you're not alone.

  3. Yes, I live there. I have lived there five or six years. the best place ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, I mean it.

  4. Yes, I was there some 10 days ago and it was fun, not too hot (a bit rainy though because of the hurricanes we've had lately) and very nice just to walk around, see people, little shops, restaurants, etc..... I didn't get to see a lot of the town because I was stuck in a family reunion but I did enjoy the environment and the food there. It's true there are a lot of foreigners there, but it adds charm to the town.
