Im interested in going( not because of what actually happens there, because i had no idea until about 20 minutes ago) but because since they actually made a movie based on it, i find it turistical. Anyway, have you ever been there?

Is it relatively "safe" to go there( with my family, not entering it, just maybe taking a picture of it from the outside) During the night?

  1. I have been there and found it to be full of tourists and it felt completely safe.  There is no reason why you can't go there with your family, especially if you are only going to take a picture from outside.  We went to the evening show, for dinner too, and it was fantastic.  It is a heck of a production with lots of music, great costumes, dancing, and lots more.  But if you are only going to see it from the outside you don't need to worry.  Actually, we took a cab from the Place Vendome, where we were staying for only a few euros and it took us right to the door.  If you take a cab, you really don't even have to walk around the area.  Hope this helps!  Bonne chance.

  2. The area is relatively safe although there are a lot s*x shops, strips clubs and other sleazy businesses in the general area. Paris is generally a very safe city with very little violent crime.

The principle danger is from other tourists who are attracted to the area seeking drink and debauchery and are therefore behaving badly as drunken louts often do.

  3. I've not been in it, but I've stood right outside of it. It's...quite disappointing if you're expecting what you see in the movie. It looks nothing like that.

I don't know about during the night, as I only went there during the day...but I found Paris to be relatively safe, day or night. That's a "shady" part of town but I think you should be okay as long as you're with your family.

  4. i've been there and stood outside, took some pictures.  Generally, it's safe but just be aware on your surroundings.  A lot of people are passing by, mixed races and everything....

  5. I've been in the area, within sight distance, in the evening as I stayed in a hotel in the area.

It seemed relatively safe to me, although I haven't been directly outside or inside, but close enough to take photos!
