Last year, these two girls that rode the bus with me found out I liked rock instead of rap and hiphop and asked me was I gothic and stuff and told me that I should listen to black people. A friend of mine and I were bored and decided to make a list of favorite songs, when we compared lists she said 'd**n girl you aint got no black music on here! i like white music but d**n!'. Even from my own mom! I was telling her about a band and she asked me 'you dont listen to black music do you?' Have ppl ever treated you this way?

  1. It is the way it should be. Rock should never be mainstream pop. Part of the attraction of rock is it anti-conformity.

  2. first of all fck them rap and hip hop is S**t  and im Mexican and i like rock i say embrace it and dont worry about it only ppl who listen 2 rap and hip hop r ppl trying 2 act black fck them d**n wiggers no offence but i hate ppl who try 2 act hard and S**t fck them oh and those comment's r stupid those ppl who like rap and hip hop are fake wanna be wiggers fck them d**n they get me pissed of and i go 2 school full of them fck they p**s me off man i wish there was a school 4 rock lovers oh and it has not happened 2 me yet

92% of the teenage population has switched to rap. If you are the 8% who still rocks, copy and paste this as your signature

  3. Yes, just because I'm Mexican people think I should be listening to reggaeton.

My own brother calls me "whitewashed"

  4. no, and they shouldn't either.

basically the only advice i can tell you is to tell them to F1ck off.

who should care that you like "white" music instead of "black" music?

  5. They should pay attention is history, because then they'd know that rock music actually originated from black people.

  6. well im not black but no. I think it shouldn't matter what race you are. Rock is amazing and anyone should be able to enjoi it. :)

    edit-Local L is a b*****d.

  7. no, but don't pay attention to what other people say;you don't have to like or follow what other people do if you don't want to(witch I bet you well know). your likes and dislikes are what make you unique.=]

  8. That's probably one of the stupidest remarks on rock I've ever heard... How sad...

  9. I have had a minister tell me I'm going to h**l because i love listening to rock music. so ya.

  10. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS I'm black myself and people call me all type of..Devil,Demon, etc....Now I just have some fun and scare the h**l out of all of them.

  11. Since when is music defined by race? They sound like a bunch of ignorant kids. "Black music" and "white music" is probably the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

I've never experienced this, but it's pretty sad that people think this way.

  12. Rock sucks!! That's why they treat you like that you oreo wierdo!!!

  13. huh?  you can listen to whatever you want to, black white or purple who the h**l cares as long as the music is good and is what you are into.  i don't like when people try to make a race war out of even the most mundane things.

  14. Thankfully no, most of my friends like the same kind of music as me. And since when is music defined by the colour of your skin?

  15. Yeah, I've heard it from people. They're just ignorant and uncultured people. As far as the whole "black music" and "white music" thing: saying that is just stupid and only further proves my last statement. Aren't they aware that there ARE white rap and hip-hop artists (Eminem, Flobots, and Gorrilaz) as well as black rock artists (the front-man to Jimi Hendrix, the front-man to Killswitch Engage, Lenny Kravitz, ME!). I hear the same stuff when I tell people that my favorite three artists are Escape The Fate (you should check them out if you haven't heard of them (they have a MySpace)) Blessthefall and UnderOath. But like I said. They're just ignorant...uncultured. Don't worry about it. Just feel sorry for them.

  16. I have kind of...

In grade 8 this kid came up to me and said "Why are you so goth?!" and made a cross with his fingers at me... I just stared at him for a couple seconds and walked away.

I don't dress any where close to that style... and last time I checked listening to rock music didn't make you 'goth' either... -sigh-
