WOW! I did this last night and it was the weirdest thing ever. We were sparring and all I remember was getting kicked in the groin not once but twice. The first time I took a pretty hard kick that really hurt. I had to stop and take my rest and they we continued the sparring session. The next time it was kind of a glancing blow and all I remember is a wave of anger coming over me and then I was gone. I didn't even know what I was doing. They said I flurried and hit the guy in the face and kneed him in the stomach at full force. The next thing I remember was flailing as I was being pulled off by two coaches while my sparring partner was cussing me out and yelling at me. It was crazy, it was like I was on auto pilot and I had no control of what I was doing. What the h**l causes that? I been hurt and fighting on instincts before, but this wasn't like that at all. Just more like blackout, but I was fully functional.

  1. Lack of focus and allowing rage to take over is the sign of poor training.

  2. It's adrenaline. I've done it myself, but due to fear. If you can train under high stress, you can learn to lessen the adrenaline effect, so you'll keep control and know what's going on. If you want better information on it, read The Gift of Fear by Gavin De Becker.

  3. I have heard the term "white out" used to describe this.  If you don't learn to control your fear then no one will want to spar with you.  You are responsible to have control to protect your partner and not spaz out on him.  If you need to take a break because you took a shot to the balls then just hold your hand up and tell your sparring partner that you are hurt, don't just freak out.  Try to remember that you are not in a real fight.

  4. One of the biggest benifits of training a martial art(IMO) is to achieve the ability to react to a situation without losing emotional control.  I have had to stop and figure out what move I have used or why what I did worked so well/so poorly, but never because I was in some berserker rage.  Just like the others said no one will want to work out with "the goon" with no control.

Oh yeah, start blocking!!  If nothing else, your balls will thank you.

  5. i have!!

it is from a massive bulid up of nerve signals, that can also be cuase by back up of blood in the brain.

aka: kicked in the balls while fighting and the high heart rate and pain can over fill ur brain with info causeing a rebote (blackout)

  6. OMG YOu are like soooooooooo scary!!!!

    .....f@g

  7. This only happens to novice or inexperienced fighters. It's a mixture of adrenaline and lack of self control. Losing control like that is not a good thing. You need to work on that.

  8. No, experienced time dilation where everything seemed to slow down.
