No. I make sure that my young cousins will enjoy the gift not the wrapper or the box.

I did that when I was a kid.  Ironically, my cat does the same thing.

They play with the weirdest things,

I bought my nephew an elmo doll and he took out the elmo, threw it, and walked away with the box...I didn't get mad because he was only 3, but I said "d**n that sh*t was 25 bucks"...lmao

yup, I bought my daughter a kitchen thing for xmas last year and she would get in the box and play house but she only started playing with the kitchen recently.

that's a majority of the time.  kids find wrapping and boxes very entertaining.

Oh yes, many a time.  My kids, when they were little, loved to play with the toys, but also loved the boxes.

Went to a yard sale, bought some pots and pans and a wooden spoon. Wrapped them in a cardboard box. Infant son loved them!

I think it is cute when little children are not caught up with what is in the box and a small trinket is so much fun and the box is great fun!  Adults need to learn this.

YES! When my kids were little 1 - 3yrs, they always like the boxes better.
