  1. I have had an InterRail through Europe 3 times, in 20 years time, but that had to do with changing rules. When I turned 26 I could not get the youth version anymore and the adult version did not exist at that time.

Only recently I have used InterRail again.

    I love it.

But I love being in a train for hours, a day of 8 hours in a train is no problem for me, and I have done several 3 days on the train continuously in Canada and Australia.

For people who love the train a little less it can be hard work to travel the distances.

The two InterRail cards in my youth were one month continuously cards, (the only kind then,) the most recent one was a 10 days out of 22, and I traveled all those 10 days and 2 more, one with local tickets and one overnight to return home.

If you have to buy Eurail (for non Europeans) it is more likely that you will not make a profit, compared with separate tickets.

Even more if you do not really love trains and will try to travel efficiently.

If in doubt, look at the prices and the practical info:

    Eurail: http://www.raileurope.com/us/rail/passes...

    InterRail: http://www.interrailnet.com/

And a site that helps you to work out whether it is (financially) interesting to buy a rail pass:
