I got my daughter this adorable toy about a week ago. Its a soft, plush stacker toy with little soft rings and a fluffy lamb's head that stack on a plush pole in the center (You usually see the brightly colored plastic ones but my daughter is just 4 1/2 months old so I liked this one. Anyway, I brought it home and took it out to play with her. The first thing that struck me was the image of her playing with the lamb's head, as off the toy it is a bit disturbing, LOL. So I proceded to take all the rings off the little center pole and when I took them off and looked at the little pole, I was horrified! It looked like a big plush p***s! I have shown the thing to a couple other people, including my mother, and they all had the same first impression, so I'm not just lonely and imagining this! Now I'm torn about letting her play with it. On one hand she loves it and has no idea what I see in it. On the other hand - it is just so disturbing!!! Have you ever had an experience like this where you bought your child some totally innocent toy or product and then realized how truly inappropriate it was later?

Also, do you think the refills for the Playtex Drop Ins bottles look like female condoms? I laughed my head off when I opened the package!

  1. You have a perverted mind.

  2. Haha. That's funny.

Anyways, was it in the baby section where you got it? or is it seriously an adult toy? If it's really intended for babys then I'm sure it's just you thinking about it in that way. I see no harm in letting her play with it. I mean things that seem sexual are everywhere ya know?

  3. OMG never had this experience myself ! But I have very good mental pictures going through my head!! Gotta say whoever put the link on for the dora lamp I just about wet my pants laughing!!! Thanks I really needed a good laugh.Would love to see a pic of this toy too.

Have to say though if your daughter loves the toy let her have it,she doesnt know any different. But if it really disturbs you then I say bin it.

Just checked back to see if you posted a pic, have to say yes it is a little disturbing, but doesnt look even half as bad as I thought it would.

  4. haha me and my husband thought the same thing when we opened the playtex liners! we were laughing hysterically for a good 5 minutes!

LOL GREAT PICTURES!! I think I may have peed my pants! lol......the joys of regaining bladder control after being pregnant!

  5. Yeah Playtex Drop refills do look like female condoms. But the toy seriously don't stress this side of her brain does not understand p***s toys ect she loves the toy why take it away? When she is old enough then take it away until then its a little giggle you and your family can share.

  6. Okay, that's hilarious.  Thank you for putting up the pictures.  Just what I needed today...first day back at work after having my little guy (almost four months).  Thank  you!

  7. LOL!!!

I don't think its a problem for her to play with it! Like you said she doesn't understand what it is and doesn't see it the same way you do! But that sure is the funniest thing I have heard all day!

    Good Luck!!!

  8. hahaha thanks I needed a laugh today. That is hilarious. Sorry I dont have a story to share. It hasnt happened to me. But that is so funny

hahahaha Just read your post Josephine. what were they thinking!!!!

I don't have it, but that blows me away!

  11. ROFL!  YES on the drop-ins thing!  Especially the expandables.  That's what I think of all the time (I uses those bottles).

I got a mental image of the baby playing with the lamb head that will keep me giggling for a while. =)

I saw a vibrating teether the other day and couldn't help thinking about other uses for that...  And hubby saw a very phallic-looking knobby teether thing and commented on it.  Maybe we just have dirty minds.

  12. ha ha. I do think that the playtex look like a condom. I have never seen a female condom. (never needed to see one). And I would love to see a link to this toy. Sounds pretty funny.

  13. I have seen several toys that do look phalic in some ways.

Yah the playtex drop ins are FUNKY!

  14. not inappropriate in that way but for my daughters birthday, she bugged me to buy her these Bindies things because they were all the rage, then the following week found out they had a drug in them that was killing children. it was some sort of amphetamine in the plastic. she was so upset when i threw them out but i replaced them with a playstation. so she didn't hate me for long.

  15. i have never seen the toy you are describing but i think it would be wrong to take it away from her especially if she like it..as you said she has no idea what it is!so just let her play with it..and to ease your mind you know it was meant for infants and that is not what it is meant as so let her play and just think other thoughts!

i seen your picture and wow!but i still think you should let her play with it..very funny the way it looks really you'd think they wold put more though into it

  16. "big plush p***s" cracks me up.....LOL.

If it were me, I'd probably just let her play with it. She certainly can't see the humor in it. Plus, she will get a kick out of Mommy giggling every time she handles it....:)

A few weeks ago I had to have an internal ultra-sound because of some crazy periods. Anyway, the ultra-sound wand, I swear, was a giant vibrator with a camera glued to the end. I still laugh every time I think of it...LOL
