Have you ever brought back poems from your dreams?

I have. They were some of the oddest poems, too. Here's one:

"And in this game, I find

I am allowed to be the same

after the many yards

of the many cards

which to the dead

my father hath dealt".

Weird, eh?

Here's another one:

"She sits in Heaven all alone,

lord above her only throne.

Man below, she sees him cry.

Angels below, she watches them die."

Yet another one (to the tune of "Top of the World" by the Carpenters, starting where they sing "And the love that I've found ever since you've been around..." but with these words):

"In spite of what she said,

I would never be caught dead

back in church.

I am the queen of the flame.

The queen of the flame."

And a last one:

Eyes of the future, looking back at me.

Eyes of the future, what do you see?

The image of a dead man where a life used to be?

Oh, eyes of the future, won't you please tell me?

I love things that come out of dreams. They're oft otherworldly. You ever dream any such things?

  1. This came to me as a song--just a couple of lines:

    "Frogs come up like lightening

I don't know what to do.

    Frogs are all around me

    In front and behind, too."

It had other lyrics but I don't remember them and it was being sung by a Mariachi band.
