Question:

Have you ever called a cruise company and asked for an onboard credit?

If so, what did you say and did you get one? When we booked our cruise, we expected to be getting a $50-$100 onboard credit with our purchase. Well, it never showed up and I called last night and was told that I wasn't eligible for it - even though I explained that the website said we were and we met all the requirements. The lady just said 'sorry, no'. I couldn't believe it! So, I did write them a nasty email, but I haven't heard anything as of yet. Perhaps I should have stuck with the other cruise line I like, haha. Is there anything I can do???

  1. Did you book it directly with Royal Caribbean or another agency?

I've seen other agencies offer OBC's (on board credit) for Royal Caribbean, but you have to book it through that agency, you cannot book it through Royal Caribbean and expect to get the OBC.

You need to read the fine print.  It may have just been eligible for certain ships, certain sail dates, certain stateroom categories, etc...

Getting nasty with Royal Caribbean will not work.

If you have never sailed with them before, chances of getting an OBC prior to sailing is slim.

And also since you don't know if the OBC was supposed to be $50 or $100 makes me question the validity of it.

    Edit:

Looking at offer history, the only thing I see offered by Royal Caribbean was a sale back in May, with about a page of fine print.

I see a bunch of things offered by Expedia, Travelocity, where if you book with Expedia or Travelocity you get a credit,  and a few where you enter "coupon codes" when you book, which are totally bogus.

  2. next time you go cruising, contact www.vacationstogo.com they will take care of everything for you, and the prices are much cheaper than purchasing from other companies
