i called this thing they have thats called "dateless in dallas" and when they said to call i called rightaway so they picked up and said call back tommorrow man (giggling) at first they hung up...maybe they really werent taking any calls.....but in the station they keep asking for calls..? so how is it that there not taking anymore hmm but yeah i dont think i sounded wierd....maybe i did....i tend to mumble but i been told i sound like a hot white guy lol so yeah maybe i just sounded wierd sometimes i tend to mumble

  2. Happens all the time and very frequently.

    I assume you're in Dallas (since you mentioned, "Dateless in Dallas").  I work in Dallas radio.

    There is a listening audience of 5 Million + in the Dallas area.  Granted, the show you were listening probably didn't have close to that, but there are a ton.  Anytime the phrase, "Call in now" is thrown out, the phone lines light up!  Big time.

    I'll shoot real low and say that there were (including you) 500 people listening to the same thing at the same time and let's assume that 25% of those people called in then.  That's 125 calls on a phone system that handles 10 at a time...(ever notice the long wait before the call screener picks up)?

    So in essence, 1 person has to filter through 100+ phone calls and find the interesting callers, people they can actually use "on air" - You wouldn't believe the kinda calls I have heard...There are a lot of screwy people out there, but I digress.

    So there are a lot of 'pick up' and 'hang ups' just to clear a little room.
