What's it like? Have you ever camped at one of the first-come first served sites (they can't be reserved)? I will be driving for over 5 hours and don't want to get there and not have a site to stay at.

Also I will be at Beaver Meadows campground and I'm trying to find the daily or weekly fees for the boat launch. I know there is an annual fee, but I will only be there for a week.

Can anybody tell me about the water falls, and how easy they are to locate? Are there signs that tell you how to find them?

Do you have any other suggestions?

  2. What's it like?  Awesome.

I have never camped Beaver Meadows but have stayed at other sites that are fist come-first serve and the sites were not actually sectioned off like other campgrounds.  You camped where you wanted in a specific area and had access to water and bathrooms.  I would call ahead and see if it's the same situation or depending on what time you get in stop at the park office.  If for some reason you can't get a spot, keep in mind you can pull off and set up camp almost anywhere in the forest for free.

    Good luck and have fun!
