  1. Yes I have. In relations, a degree of adjustment and compromise is natural don't you think....

Same with family and friends. I adjust to accomodate the way they are.

What I won't change in, is somethings I truly believe in and feel right about and drawn to, even though the world might be against it. But life always gives many gray areas where we have to make some tough decisions...so yes, I wouldn't say "I don't care" and I also wouldn't say "it's always about me".

  2. All my life, though as an adult often the change is made so that I can accept myself.

  3. yeah when i was younger but I would never do that now

  4. No, I never changed so I could be accepted by the "in" crowd. I love who I am and I don't want to be someone I am not!!! I don't care what people think about me. I love being unique!!!

  5. I think this is a constant struggle and battle in people's lives.

I think we all, at times, do something that our peers are doing, just to blend in and be accepted by other people. We may not know what we are doing or why... but we are willing to give it a try to gain that acceptance.

Then, I also think some people go to the extremes to find and clarify their individualism to the world.  They dress to be noticed, have crazy hairstyles and hair color, and get into activities that most people don't get into.  I think they thrive on being so different, in which no one will be willing to go that far to fit in with them.  I suppose they are screaming on the inside for attention.

I also find it ironic how so many school districts nowadays find a need to require students to wear uniforms.  This is an act of taking away any sense of individuality.

I think the middle ground here is to be yourself, be an individual, an be unique without going to extremes to make yourself noticed.  People will see you for who you are because you have already made the decision not be someone you are not.
