I know some one who did just that. Not me. Now they have a pretty safe trail and railings in some places, not like the old trail with no railings.

  1. I  did climb the trail to Nevada Falls and Vernal Falls in Yosemite in my late 20's. It was hard going up. As it was also hot, had to stop and take a couple of breathers. It was easier coming down, but hard on the knees, It was like you needed brakes to slow you down. But it was an experience I will never forget. I know at my age now it will never again be possible to do. If I could just get my son's to throw my ashes off the top of Vernal Falls I would be a happy camper, knowing that was my final resting place.

  2. Right now I'm stuck on Mount Fuji with my laptop.

I've been here for 6 years.

  3. Once I climbed to the top of a bush, and did'nt want to come down.

  4. Yes, and I am still up there.

Kind of lost in space, as it were....

  5. I went up a mountain on a ski lift when I was about11 years old but was too scared to ski down so I took my skis off and walked down the mountain which took over three hours.

  6. I just tell you a story from my long ago.  Ok, so I'm about 20 years old (then) and a group wanted a beach party.

We decided on the beach down below Palos Verdes.

this is the beach area South of L.A.  It is now full of very expensive homes.

So we all climbed down the cliffs and had a wonderful party.  Built a fire, had a BBQ, sang, told stories, it was great.

As I recall, the sun was going down and we all still had that cliff to climb to get to our cars.  So we all got out of there fast.  We left some guys to clean up.  I almost ran up the cliff until I almost got to the top..I'd say about 10' from the top.  I looked down and FROZE.  I could not move.  Everyone was screaming at me to keep climbing but I couldn't.  I was terrified.  One of the guys came back down and I held onto his belt while he pulled me and him up.  The belt was still on his pants.  No, they

didn't come off.  But that stopped me from ever wanting to climb again.  I even became afraid of heights.

  7. I climbed to the top of a mobile home to do repairs and couldn't get down.  I do not like swinging my leg around in mid air to get down and hoping the ladder doesn't move.  There were some guys building a gas station nearby and I hear them laughing and wondering if I was ever going to get down.  I bought a house shortly thereafter and learned to brace the ladder against the chimney and you can still see my fingernail marks in it from getting down.  Climbing mountains is not going to happen.  But just saw a picture of the view from Mt. Everest.  Unbelievable.

  8. Nope, never climbed a mountain, but I have gone up on the roof and was too scared to get on the ladder to come down.

  9. If I did, wouldn't I STILL BE THERE... being unable to get down?

    So... the answer is... Nope.

    Have a Senior Day.

  10. It's interesting but going up can be allot easier than coming down - ehere to place your feet.
