Question:

Have you ever done a seance?

Were there any specific rituals involved? How did it turn out? Were there any items that were necessary for the completion of the seance? Was there anyone in particular you were trying to reach? If so, did you need a personal belonging of theirs to do so? And did you ever reach that person?

I'm writing about it, but I've never actually done one, so any advice/experiences would be wonderful.

  1. No. The problem with seances is that you open the door to let whatever wants in in. You could end up with not only a GHOST, but a demon too. Believe me you're better off not having met one. They are probably the scariest creatures in existance.

  2. no   but  i' ve  seen  an  ouja  board  session

  3. I went to one seance, once back when I was in college.

I was kinda a skeptic back then, but what happened then creeped me out enough to broaden my mind a little.

We had a weird medium, from what little I know of seances, she didn't do the normal stuff.

First we all sat in circle with out backs facing inwards. around us she had positioned candles of varying height and color around us in an even bigger circle. She walked around the room holding three chicken bones, which we painted black, and had ancient pagan words written on them (I only know them because I asked to see them afterwards)

    Lupercal

    Saturnalia

    Equir

She took the bones, and threw them into the middle of our circle, and told us to chant the following words:

    Effigies Nonverum Est!

After a few minutes of this, the smoke from the candles was beginning to get thick in the air (it was a small room) suddenly the medium began prancing about the room, flailing her arms wildly. She began going really close to my face and my friends faces, and talking in weird, fluctuating tones and accents. When she reached me, she said one word: "Ray." Ray was the name of my uncle who had just died a few weeks ago in a car crash.

Needless to say, this was very scary to me, and I tried to get up and leave, but she looked at me (I guess you could call it "giving the evil eye") and I saw that her pupils were gone! After that point, my memory is kind of funny, but I do remember some sort of trumpet tune playing over and over again.

I hope that was helpful, sorry that I couldn't remember more.

  4. Guided seances have been out of fashion after pretty much all mediums were debunked as frauds.  That doesn't mean you can't have your own.  All you need is a Ouija board.  That's a board game you can buy at any major toy store.  I would caution you with one piece of advice though.  If you're superstitious or easily influenced by the power of suggestion I would recommend you not participate in a seance.  I have seen many people who fit that description attribute all sorts of natural events to paranormal sources after having participated in a seance.

    Good luck and have fun.

  5. Take my advice.. dont mess around with them, you might not like what you end up contacting.

  6. No, I don't waste time on pointless things. Seances are not real. Neither are fairies or unicorns for that matter.

  7. I was involved with one that was called "table tipping."

We used a large round, oak table that had a very big and very heavy pedestal in the middle with heavy arms extending from the bottom of the pedestal.

There were about 20 of us. We gently place only our fingertips on the table. We would then ask questions of deceased relatives and friends. The table would vibrate a little or gently rock back and forth when someone was contacted.

I was skeptical, but finally took my turn at the table. I placed my fingertips on the table and asked if my Dad was there. The large, heavy oak table walked across the room. No, I'm not kidding. No one could control it. When we got it back to the center of the room, I just said Dad I love you. The table started walking again, but some people grabbed it.  I then left the table.

No one else got such a reaction out of the table that night.

Contacting the dead or spirits is nothing to be feared, as far as I'm concerned. You can protect yourself by burning certain incense, a black candle and a white candle. You can also protect yourself by not allowing any negative feelings to be brought to the seance.

If I were you, I would find a good book on seance's. One that had a chapter on protecting yourself.

I have never brought anything negative through. And I have had several experiences with spirits and ghosts.

  8. One thing I can say about seances and it is that it is very dangerous. Those spirits that people think are dead people are actually demonic spirits.
