An earlier question about "sad but true" makes me want to ask. I'll use my answer to it as my example now. Once when I was 16 some friends and I got together and coated charcoal briquettes in caramel, wrapped them in semi-transparent wrap and handed them out to the kids as "poor kid candy/caramel apples", along with dog biscuits and celery. What's worse is that we did this at the home of an acquaintance who lived in a kind of bad neighborhood, so that the kids there really didn't have much. Even worse is that almost every kid thanked us, oblivious to their lame "treat".
I've always felt kind of bad about that. What about you?
