  1. All the time I feel underpaid.  I have asked for a raise.  I was told our company does not give raises except for once a year.  If you feel that unappreciated you need to look for a new job.  First off you may want to look at salary.com and see if you are getting paid fairly.  If so, there may not be much more money to make.  However, if you are getting paid lower than the median, you may want to consider a new job.  Just try asking for a raise.  The most your boss can do is say no.

  2. Reduce the amount of work I do to match the compensation. Having said that, these days it is a vicious circle. YOu do just enough for your pay level and it rises even slower. You really have to keep outdoing yourself to keep getting decent pay raises.

As someone said to me, "Work is a thing you do!"

  3. yes i have

  4. dress better

keep up to date on what's happening around you

    take classes

ask if you can take on more responsibility

    look for a better job

  5. no one really earns enough, our needs/wants change as we get paid higher!

so does this mean we are all underpaid?

  6. yeah, i always had that feeling and i always think of the phrase "equal work for equal pay"; but after having experienced that "nobody is indispensable", i realized that "work is what you do".
