  1. I have thought about this and it makes me feel neither alone or insignificant.  Quite the contrary!  Why?  because we are all parts of the universe, and we are important to its progression.  If I were to have a pie, and had several large pieces, and one tiny piece, would you say that the tiny piece is insignificant? No because it's still an integral part of the pie and without it, the pie would be incomplete.  Same goes with the universe.  Two, being parts of the universe, we can never be alone, for no matter where you are looking, you are looking at part of yourself.  That's the way I see it. Hope this helps.

  2. The closed minded contemplate the universe as a huge unseen expanse beyond the realms of the imagination. The transcendental Spirits are as one and have the universe contain within their minds. Spiritual ascension if to rise above and view the world with God conscious and perspective.

Aloneness is an absence of human interaction. Loneliness is being surrounded by many, in ones mind and about and having no discernible association or tangible communication. I do not feel alone when contemplating the universe. Rather I am able to comprehend global humanity as a one force of many, similar in their diversity.

  3. Definately, amazingly so

    very insignificant

but ive always had this irrevocable pull to try and be someone or something that could result in people looking up to me, or having some kind of significance in their life.

:) but in the end, we all die

  4. alone and insignificant

  5. Of course, since a child..that's just the way it is.

  6. Well,  that depends on my mood!  I have become so moody lately...feel connected with all at times;  and disconnectedly forlorn at others!  The vastness of the Universe scares me mostly...will I lose my way or there will be guides to lead me...

Oh,  I just don't want to start what I can't stop...this contemplation business makes my head spin faster than a top!

  7. Meh not really. There are soo many people in the world, you are never alone. Out of all those people, there is definitely someone who feels the way you do and can relate to you and your circumstances.

  8. Alone but not lonely.

I have all of you here. ♥

  9. well, not alone exactly but definitely insignificant

  10. i feel alone.

    so alone.

  11. no i don't feel alone ,i just wish i could see where it ends ,invariably i see a rickety old fence and a sign saying "end of the universe"

when contemplating the vastness of the universe at a very deep  level , i do not feel  alone ,indeed, i become the universe ,the feeling of "oneness" is indescribable ,deep enough it's just .... "one " ....

and i believe every living thing on this planet is the same .

  12. I agree with Greg S.

I don’t feel alone because I know I am a child of God and He is my father.

However I do wonder why He considers me worthy of His love.

    Eventually I will find out.

  13. sometimes i do when i get a chance to think about it...

  14. Typically the best way to contemplate the vastness of the universe is while looking up into a star filled sky.  Realizing that those are other suns, other galaxies really puts things in perspective.  It does tend to make one feel like a single flea on the back of a dog in the middle of a forest surrounded by an ocean.  Layer upon layer upon layer.

I often try to think of the universe but fail in every attempt.  The best I am able to do is to shrink things down in my mind.... first the Earth then the solar system then the galaxy.  Still I can't seem to reach any understanding of things that are beyond my field of vision.  The universe in my mind can only ever be as big as my eyes can see.

Then my mind wanders to purpose and meaning.... and again I am illequiped.

  15. As Above, So Below....

Do I ever feel alone when contemplating the vastness of my Soul?   No, I don't.  So I feel the same when thinking about the vastness of the Universe.  I am part of it and this has its unique, magic value.

  16. When I contemplate the vastness of the universe I have more important things on my mind than humanity. In my opinion, when thinking about such things it becomes so obviously apparent that everything that has ever been done, everything that will ever be done, everyone you know and the billions you don't and never will, are all just complete and total pointless acts in futility.

So enjoy life. You only get one, literally.

This bring up an interesting point though. If we live on this plane, isn't it possible for us to exist on others. I mean there's so much we don't understand and so much we can't comprehend with our considerably limited brain power. To claim that once you are dead, you are gone forever is an ignorant statement. I mean we're here right now. Why can't we go somewhere else after death?
