  2. never felt like an outsider because I've never felt like I need to get 'in' with people

    if someone or a group of people don't like me that's fine, I won't lose any sleep over it

  6. I have lived in Bulgaria for 3 years and find it very difficult to speak their language so when my wife,who speaks fluent English,go out,  much of the conversation is naturally in Bulgarian That's when I feel an outsider

  7. I went to watch my nan play bowls once.There was a "tea party " after.I was the youngest by about 80 years I def felt like an outsider...

    I was thinking wtf am I doing here?/I was about 17 at the time.

    Following blindly where others led. I always preferred to stand apart from the sheep and direct them, a little.

    Much more fun.

    so I stayed to myself all the time

  16. Yes, I felt an outsider once, and he called the police on me.

  17. Yes. In grade school I stood alone for two years at recess. In my first year of college I sat in the bathroom during breaks sometimes.

    However I have a lot of good friends outside of school. It would have bothered me a long time ago but not now, if people don't accept me they don't accept me, so what? I'm happy regardless of it.

    Those people don't matter.

  18. I moved to a tiny Cornish village 7 years ago, and the Cornish certainly know how to make you feel like you don't belong.They'll take your money whilst you're on holiday, but they make it clear they don't want outsiders living there.

  21. just be yourself and find like minded people to hang out with, am an individual and when was younger was an "in crowd" so to speak and after a while I distanced myself as found them self absorbed and gossipy, made many other friends and were more like myself, had their own minds and way of thinking and not just a clone, take care and don't change who you are just to fit in as that is why you are unique.

  25. I was far too well brought up to 'feel' an outsider ............ but yes in some circumstances I have.

    When in the Gulf States, unless you are Arab and of the faith, you will always be an outsider.

    For me, happy to be an individual who enjoys people.

    It is important to feel valued, though.

  31. All the time.

    I kind of gave up wanting that & just became my own person.  I don't generally put much stock in being one of the "in" crowd these days.
