  1. i dont know, im pretty messed up with myself but my friends always come to me with their problems... i give good advice funnily enough- but it is depressing when your friends are able to lead a happy life but you cant

    :O who knows

  2. definitely..

People have opinions on how to fix problems even if they've never experienced something similar. Also, we're able to give advice to help others because we can see the problem from a different perspective, standing on the sidelines and watching the problem as it happens.

and there's a lot of reasons why we can't help ourselves. Sometimes, we don't notice that a problem is occuring in our own lives, or worse - we choose to deny it.  It may also be that people in general don't like to break the status quo - some things, despite how harmful they may be, like cigarettes, are done habitually and are seen as an 'addiction'.. which is a term that can be used as an excuse (sorry for the tangent..)

also, sometimes, we're just not motivated enough to fix our own problems - overweight people know they should lose weight in order to become healthier, yet they cease to continue overeating and underexercising.. failing students don't study even if it means they won't graduate.. etc..

so yeah.. i figure it's something like that..

  3. absolutely.

i think we can not help ourselves because we don't trust ourselves. our past experiences create a barrier, brick by brick, in fear of letting that same adversity happen once again.
