This year, I am joining cross country for the first time. I was a mid distance runner in track but we had to run the distance workouts and training. My endurance is not that great. I want to know if I finish last in the xc race, how I should feel. Happy that I finished and just do my best next time? Is it okay to slow down alot if you run out of energy and then pick up the pace again? I tried to run 3 miles the other day but my legs were really cramping up and I had to slow down to a walk for a few minutes.
