  1. Post-flop, yes.  Pre-flop, never.

  2. Yes, I have folded pocket aces.

Most commonly in a tournament post-flop when there is a good chance of a straight or flush on the table. and it is near the bubble.

Near Bubble play can be tough on big hands in the fae of a flop that you did not hit, but someone else may have. And I would rather collect a payout than go out with the best hand preflop, and the second best post flop, lol.

    Good luck at the tables!

  3. I was playing in a home game tournament, and got dealt AA in middle position.  I raised it 4X the BB, and the BB re-raised me.  I smooth called, because he was a maniac.  Flop came Q83, rainbow.  BB bet, I raised, he called.  I knew he had a queen, because if he tried to bully me pre-flop and didn't hit he'd release.  Turn came a 6.  As the BB moved all in I noticed his hands were shaking.  I had just read Caro's book of tells, and he mentions that you shouldn't call a shaking bet unless you hold the mortal nuts.  It's a release of tension because they've made their hand.  So I mucked my aces face up, and told the BB that he had a Q6.  He flipped over....Q6.  One pair is just one pair, always remember that.

  4. All the time, and its hard to do lemme tell ya.

But if the flop comes out with K K 4 or something and he goes all in, you better believe i'll fold. Its something every gambler does, no matter how good you are.

  5. Yes, It is hard to do, but if there is a flush on the board or possibly a straight, you have to be careful.  Also, so one could have tripped up.

  6. The worst way to get beaten with pocket aces is when the board doesn't pair or give you another ace. At low limits people stay in the hand with 7/2 off suit because they have two pair. If you have raised pre-flop they know you are probably holding one big pair. You have one pair. They have two pair. You lose. The most interesting thing is how (especially at low limits) people with pocket aces will keep juicing the pot all the way to the river - even though there is a straight or flush on the board. They just can't seem to lay them down. On the other hand, the best way to use pocket aces is when you can beat someone holding pocket kings, queens, or jacks - because they think they have top pair. Or, if there is a pair on the board and someone thinks they have a full house - but another ace shows up giving you a bigger full house. You have to know how and when to play them. They are not a consistently winning hand - and nothing is. However, in a casino pocket aces can make a jackpot hand. Jackpots can range up to 100K - so for that reason alone I never fold American Airlines pre-flop. If someone raises before me I re-raise and hope the betting is capped pre-flop. I usually fold pairs if an overcard comes on the board. So many people hold on to pocket queens and kings when an ace shows - and lose.

I love people who can't. They make me lots of money!
