  1. The fact you wrote:  "back on drive" makes me think this happens  to you daily...

  2. Yes a couple of times when I was very young.........

  3. I was giving a driving test to an applicant in GA and to give her enough room to conduct the quick stop check, I had her back up a little bit. When I told her 'go' she still had the gearshift in R and we shot back about 25 feet before she caught it. But then to prove that it was no fluke, she stepped on the throttle again and the vehicle went quickly through an opening in a wall, down a short embankment and came to a stop on the driveway into the parking lot. No damage and no one was hurt. But I was so totally surprised by both accelerations, that I could not move my hands to put the gearshift in N. A moderate case of panic by the applicant and the examiner. I always double checked gear selection when conducting that event thereafter.

  5. Two separate times I've seen someone else do it and hit the car behind. Seems they had stopped too far out in the intersection and had to back out of traffic's way, then just forgot.
