  1. No, I haven't! I need to always have shoes on my feet! I would never feel comfortable about walking barefoot! I have OCD issues, plus, don't they claim they won't serve you with no shoes?

  2. I've been barefoot for over ten years, and I've been to many restaurants barefoot, from fast food places to an occasional top quality, fancy restaurant. It's never been a problem in any of them; I've never even SEEN a 'no shoes, no shirts, no service' sign here in the Netherlands, people just don't care what you are or aren't wearing on your feet.

I do have the advantage as a woman that bare feet look better with a skirt than they do with dress pants; some of the fancier places might have disliked bare feet on a guy. But just like we females can get away with dresses that have just a strap on the shoulder where guys are supposed to wear long sleeves, the same goes for footwear; we can go around exposing our feet (sandals or bare feet really doesn't make a difference on this side of the pond) where guys are expected to wear closed shoes.

Btw, it is NOT gross, unhealthy or dangerous to go barefoot. Feet get very tough very quickly, our skin is made to keep pathogens out, and feet are fully washable. Foot fungus needs a shoe to grow, it's very rare in barefoot populations. And germs aren't any more likely to jump onto the foot from the sole of a bare foot than from the sole of a shoe, or more likely to jump from the exposed skin on top of a bare foot than  from the exposed skin in a sandalled foot. Even in the US, in spite of persistent myths, there are NO health department laws requiring shoes; stores and restaurants may set their own dress codes and it may seem 'all' places have a sign, but in practice, many places don't have any anti-barefoot policy.

  3. No.  I would be grossed out to walk on a fast food restaurant floor without shoes.  I think a lot of them require shoes, anyway.

  4. Yes--to places on the beach--I live in Florida

  5. Nope ... sometimes flipflops but never barefoot ... never know what kind of stuff you make walk through and walking into a bathroom would be outright nasty without shoes on.

  6. I've drove though a drive through barefoot.

  7. no

  8. No, I have not ever went out to a fast food restaurant barefooted before.  But if you want to go barefooted than I guess you can! If the people do not care.

  9. Most of the fast food establishments where I live have NS/NS/NS signs on their windows.  However, I have been barefoot to local pizza joints without any trouble or hassle.  I haven't pushed it lately, but I suspect I'd be fine going barefoot to a local McDonald's or Wendy's barring the occasional shoe-n**i on patrol.

I confess I'm a little envious of the Floridians who can go barefoot all the time.  I come from New Hampshire where the environment is much less barefoot-friendly.

  10. I think only Briney Spears does that

  11. I am with Lisa. I have gone barefoot-on the beach. I live in Eastern Florida.

  12. NO! there are so many germs out there!
