Yes - I travel alot and I enjoy trying new places - so I sometimes go alone.

Yes.  I do dine by myself sometimes.

It's not as bad as people think.  I usually read.  It's a great way to try new restaurants and get some alone time.

yea on a business trip all the time.  Like someone said earlier just sit at the bar and read the paper or watch tv.

Crazy as it sounds, it is the way I have celebrated the end of the school year many times. I go to a bookstore, buy myself something really long and suspenseful by a favorite author. Then I head to a favorite restaurant where I order anything and everything that I want. It's such a peaceful, almost luxurious way to reward myself--and not terribly expensive, either. Good food and a good book. (Oh, and I DON'T take my cell phone with me, either!) Life is GOOD!!!

I sure have!  The best thing to do is to take something with you to keep you busy since you will have no one to talk to.  A newspaper, magazine, etc. will do just fine.  Music sometimes helps too or an interesting view.  Eating alone is not my favorite thing to do but it's better than going hungry. LOL.   The next best thing is, to bring food in.  Then you can watch TV.

you can try the bar. i've eaten breakfast alone and it works for most restaurants. bringing something to read is also a great way to pass the time and enjoy a meal.

Of course ... why wouldn't I? I may be going out solo for Mex food 2nite, or Italian, or Japanese. Food I like to eat. Just because I may be "date-less" is no deterrent.

Yes...you can just sit at the bar without anyone..it is harmless

I LIKE TO EAT AND IF ONE OF MY FRIENDS ISN'T AVAILABLE THEN I'LL GO TO THE SUSHI BAR AND EAT UP SOME SUSHI.. THEIRS NOTHING WRONG WITH GOING BY YOURSELF
