the interview goes well and at the conclusion you are given a card and told you are welcome to call back to see where the company is in the hiring process (no time frame for hiring was given although I said I was available immediately)?
I had the 2nd interview for a job that from all practical indications appeared to be perfect for me this Tuesday. Today, Thursday, I received an offer for a lesser job from another company. I called the interviewer for the good job and asked when her company intended to make a decision because I must let the lesser company know whether I will take the job by this coming Monday.
The interviewer told me that they planned to complete interviewing all candidates by mid next week and then they would do call backs or make offers.
Is this normal, for larger companies to wait to conduct all interviews rather than hire a great candidate on the spot (there are a few positions open from what I gather)?
Usually I don't get upset and move on, but this job seemed tailor fitted to my abilities, experience, and personality, so my confidence is shaken by the thought that they wouldn't care about losing me to another company.
Any thoughts are welcomed.
Thank you.
