Have you ever gotten charged for suspending your Verizon home phone service? If so, how much?

I called yesterday to suspend my home service and they said it would cost me $17 a month (essentially just holding my same #) plus $10 to reactivate it. I talked to someone else and they said it costs them nothing to do the same thing also on Verizon! Why?

Yes.  The fee is based on the service.
