  1. Yes I have.  All my children are young and restless as they follow the guiding light in their search for tomorrow in another world. They may be bold and beautiful, but at the edge of night, they realize they are only the doctors of general hospital with one life to live.

  2. Yes, even when they go through the doldrums as they do from time to time. My favourites are Holby City, Casualty, Corrie and East Enders, but they are all pretty low at the moment and are put aside for the Olympics.

  3. No I never have got hooked. I seen how it took control of my cousin.

My own life is a soap opera, that makes them look ridiculous. LOL

  4. I would have said no, but I forgot about 'Dark Shadows'. Watched it when my daughter was little. She is 39 now. When I was a kid, we watched to see what they were about, but thought it was boring and unreal, with people all dressed up, arranging roses in vases and blabbing at all daytime hours about who said what he said she said. It just seemed too silly.

  5. Never, they are like wrestling to me, phony to the bone....

  6. Not yet

  7. Oh yes, I have been watching All my children,One life to live and General hospital for over 30 years.  I love my soaps! When I was a kid I remember my mom's friend watching GH (in black and white) and I thiught I'll never watch that stuff, well it didn't take me long before I was watching. Susan Lucci, Erika Slasak still look great.

  8. I still do. lol

  9. I kind of liked "Sunset Beach."  But then it was canceled.

  10. When "Dark Shadows" premiered, I went to high school downtown, about 4-5 blocks from a major department store.

A bunch of us would race down the main street of town as soon as school let out and take the elevator to home furnishings. We'd plop our butts on the display sofas and watch the show. One TV faced the elevators and the operators would hold the elevator on the 3rd floor and watch with us until people were buzzing madly!

    What a hoot!

  11. OH yes I watch Y&R every day.  I record it when I'm not home.

  12. Yes I am addicted to Neighbours and River City.

I also like shows with a live audience Jermy Kyle and all the American shows we get.

  13. Is the Sopranos counted as a soap opera? I wouldn't miss it and hated it was only on one time a week. I also got hooked on Dark Shadows and was glad when a movie came out in the 70's because I missed the last episode and finally got to see an ending.

  14. Yes, I watched "All My Children" in b/w...when Erica married her 1st husband up to about husband # 8.

I quit when VCR's went out and DVD's came in.   I quit taping it.  Not there to watch it when its on.     Ive tuned in when Ive been off, but Im completely out of it now.

I had Jackson Montgomery kiss my hand once .  Walt Wiley. He was at the comedy club. Very nice. Talked to everyone and signed 8X10's for everyone.  I said, " Kiss my hand like you do Erica's"   He was very gallant and did it !    Me and my girlfriend laughed all the way home, and the next day !

Yeah, get a couple of margaritas and the husbands back at home, and we get mischievious.

  15. If I start watching a soap opera like "One Life To Live" and someone dies then comes back to life or an alien from outer space returns them back to the city, or someone turns into a vampire, I start NOT watching it. I can't get into that.

  21. When my kids were small I got hooked on ....I believe it was General Hospital. Oh I Forgot..before my kids were born I watched Dark Shadows.

  22. In college, everyone was hooked on soaps.  We even had soap clubs to fill in the gaps when one of us had to miss an episode.  Classes were scheduled around favorites and every tv in the Student Center was tuned to a different soap.  We only had 3 channels back then, but soaps were on all of them.
