Question:

Have you ever gotten revenge on a rude customer?

For a summer job, I work at McDonald's before going to grad school in September. We have our share of rude and impatient customers, and every once in awhile, we have the perfect opportunity to get revenge by purposely doing something to their food.

Today, this woman was being extremely difficult and insulting everyone, so I gave her a fork I found on the dirty floor to eat with. That floor is GROSS! But she never knew.

Has anybody who works/worked in food service ever gotten secret revenge on a rude customer? If so, what was the story and what did you do?

  1. I've never worked a place like that, but there's the classic spit in the food, rub their food on the ground, or put a bug in the food. Pretty mean, but that's why I'm not a d**k when I order food.

  2. there is wisedom in the saying - "don't mess with people who handle your food"

i just laugh at people who think they are being big shots by  telling the waiter(ress) off -

"ha ha buddy - i'll bet there is something extra on your plate"

  3. I know what you mean.  I really haven't gotten revenge on a rude costomer, and it would be difficult to get revenge on a rude costomer.  I work in retail, and it seems like some costomers don't use common sense.  I work for a pet dept. in a large retail store.  Whenever I have to serve pet fish to costomers, some costomers stand right on top of you.  Then if the get a "little splashed" they complain.  "Well then don't get so close, if you don't want to get wet."

I'm cashier trained for when cashier trained associates are needed by the registers.  Costomers coplain about the way you bag items and how you give out change, it's just what you dealo with at work.

  4. I work as a waitress in a local restaurant, and we get arrogant people a lot. We don't really do anything. But we do CHARGE for everything. So for the people who do not tip, we charge them for everything. Soda is free refills, but it doesn't say that on the menu, so we can charge for every soda they drink.

As for attitude, if they give me one, I give them one.

If I go somewhere, and I remember them from coming in to my work, I treat them the way they treated me at my job. Payback is a bi---, revenge is a #:?%&!!!!

  5. I will neither confirm nor deny any such doings!  However, having worked in the food service industry my self, I am VERY partial to the movie "Waiting."  What a classic!

  6. u can either do the mature thing and forget about it, or put your hair in her food. First option is smarter. Just think about it when you aren't happy with the service where u r eating, because I know it has or will happen.

  7. No, it's not worth it. I wouldn't stoop to their level. Besides what it is a couple minutes of dealing w/ someones rudeness and then possibly affecting their health? Not worth it. No matter what someone did to me, I would never want to do anything to hurt them. If anything I would kill them w/ kindness to irrate them even more!

  8. A well-known lawyer in the town where I worked at a home improvement store once called me incompetent for something that wasn't my fault. When I called him up on it, he tried to get me fired, which of course failed because I knew how to work the managers.

I was able to find out his home and work address, and needless to say, he wound up getting a bunch of C.O.D. orders...

  9. No, I would never do a thing like that. You're risking the company getting sued and you being fired. You obviously have no respect for your job.

I do get pissed off and frustrated at customers sometimes, but just give listen to their problem, acknolwedge it, correct it, and move on with life...We don't get very many rude customers at Starbucks.

  10. "Instant karmas gonna get you" Don't do that, you could get fired.

  11. No.  I worked at a bar and grill once for about a year and a half when I was an undergrad, but I never did anything like that.

  12. first of all,  Mcdonalds has their plastic ware wrapped in plastic, regardless..  What kind of "revenge" is that?  You are a sick person that gets satisfaction from this how?  Plus you will brag about it?  Why do you work in food service if you can't handle it.  Why don't you try confronting something face to face and be a real man if someone deserves a response?  BTW,  Mcdonalds has more cameras in restaurants than any other company.

  13. No, I would like to get revenge but I have not. This one time thie lady came up to me and ordered a lot of food, like 5 hamburgers, 5 hot dogs, 5 fries and 5 chicken nuggets. At first I thought I misunderstood her so I double checked with her on all of the numbers (its a lot of extra food if I mess up). It was all correct and she said she needed a reciept because she needed one for whatever reason. Obvoiusly getting all of that out at the same time would be hard so I did my best. At the end of her order, I think she was waiting for more fries and a hamburger, she asked me where it all was and I told her very nicely it was cooking. She stepped away and I put on the radio and my favorite song came on and I turned it up. She came storming back within 30 seconds of asking me where her food was and asked me again "where is my food?" Like before I told her it was cooking. She then flipped out on me and asked me who was in charge. My boss was right next to me and he very nicely said "I am mamm, what is the problem?" She said she just wanted to know and she wanted her food. A couple of weeks later she had a huge party and because we were scared of her and stayed away from her she gave us $50 in tips. Ever since she has been very nice to us. Because I didnt get revenge I got a huge tip.

  14. Karma is a real @itch...I'd be very careful about doing things like that.  Not only are you putting your job at risk, but you are putting the customers life/health at risk pulling stupid stunts like that.

Remember the customer is always right...no matter how wrong you think they are.

If it wasn't for customers, you wouldn't have your job!
