  1. It's just the dust from the floor. Even the most cleanest of houses have dust on the floor.  


  2. Yes, although usually they're more greyish, even when walking barefoot all the time. Only at a few places like the bus station do they get really black, and most of it wears off again in half a block. Btw, why is dirty soles such a big deal to some? Our skin is made to keep pathogens out, and feet are fully washable. In more than eleven years of walking barefoot, I have never yet stepped in anything that didn't come off with soap, water and a scrub brush.
