Have you ever gotten your hair braided in bahamas or other island during vacation?

Yes, members of my family have gotten hair braids. But,be aware of the girls who offer to braid your hair for $2.00, some don't tell you its $2.00 per braid, and the braids are usually really tiny, you will pay anywhere from $40.00 to $80.00 to get the local look!

Make sure to put sunscreen on between your braids, it hurts to get sun burnt on your head (or wear a hat)

No and I wouldn't.  Those women are touching all those heads and not washing their hands and not sanitizing their combs either.  Sounds like the perfect combo for getting lice! If you do decide to try to get lice from one of them and get your hair braided, make sure you put sunscreen on the scalp that shows between the braids or you will have on sunburned head.  OUCH!  On top of the lice you will probably have.......Good luck!

I paid 30.00 in punta cana for my whole head.thought that was reasonable. I was told by my beautician to spray a leave on conditioner on the braids daily until you take them out so your hair won't get damaged.worked well for me.

Be careful of those women who walk the beaches asking to braid your hair at $2 for braid.  Get a price for the whole head. I had some women do it for me in the Bahamas and I think they did a pretty shoddy job. I think African braids are the best.
