if your a ducks fan or a Corey Perry fan.. don't be too excited to meet him.

I've grown up with Corey Perry, great player, he helped lead our team to the memorial cup!

but i swear when i met him, he's a jerk, he blow's all of his fans off, there were a couple people calling him and he didnt even look up, they called again and what did he do? he moved and went and sat farther away, and im talking a little girl and boy! even their dad tried and he still ignored.

now he has every right, but im sorry, if i was a player i would never do that to kids! He's a London Hero! and he did that?!

OH and you should have seen his face when a girl called him AJ (who's his brother).

bad day maybe? oh well.. at least i got him to sign for me..

and for the record AJ is MUCH nicer, he chatted with me for a second and im not sure the Perry brothers are too fond of each other lol!

read the additional details, i will add a funny story.

  1. Great question

The closest i came to meeting an NHL player however was when i saw mike peca watching his kid practice at the rink, i figured he just wanted some privacy so i didn't bother him just a quick hello, but tons of kids asked for autographs and he really didn't seem to mind. Well, obviously he did but he was all smiles about it. (by the way this was in buffalo last summer before he was signed to the blue jackets.)

  2. I met Matt Barnaby back when he was on the Rangers, I know he's an a*****e, but he was very nice. His kid was a jerk, though. He offered me an autograph and sat there and gave me some tips. He actually helped me a lot. He showed me how to perfect my slap shot! :D

My teacher grew up with Chris Drury, who's my favourite player.

  3. -A girl's father in a middle school near my area used to be on the Flyers

-One of my friends father used to hang out with Mark Recchi

Edit: My teacher's sister does banquets for the Pittsburgh Penguins, most of the time for their AHL.  She's met the whole team, specifically Fleury-- but she didn't know who he was.

  4. Mahnon Rheaume (forgive if spelling is wrong)

(when she was in the RHI on the NJ Rock -n- Rollers)

otally stuck up & a *****.   Treat your fans better we are part of the reason you get PAID!

Love her bro so much better (he was on the rats), He at least was nice (& funny)

Other than her.. I don't think I have had a prob with anyone. well Rob Skrlac (but I think its more a misunderstanding that is the reason I dont' like him.)  Back in Nov. 99 I went t a Albany RIver Rats Booster club Bowl a thon (my 1st & the club's last as far as being the Devils farm team) well in Apri of 2000 went to the  Awards dinner & I knew but didn't at same time who was who Skrlac I didn't remember from the bowl a thon but I thought it was just because I didn't notice him or something. Well I had the album from it with me to show the guys if they wanted & Willie Mitchell was all happy snagged it right out of my hand & Skrlac comes by & NICELY I told him "I have the pictures from theBowl a thon if you'd like to see them" (I didn't know/remember he was or wasn't there I was still getting familiar with who was on the team)  well he says "No I think I'll live"

      (Quoting Full House ...HOW RUDE!)

Other than that you've had the average meetings & well those that like to joke around.

  5. I had a bad experience with David Frost. He made me do things. (sob)    :-(

  6. I've met Corey and he's always been nice to me..must be b/c I'm a chick..lol  well that's too bad to hear that he's only human and suffers from PMS sometimes.

I've only had one minor bad experience w/Bertuzzi but somebody must've said something to him b/c 2 weeks l8r he was all smiles. I even got him to sign for me and take a pic.

  7. Gary Valk told me to frak off.

  8. My wife and I went to Game 4 of the WCSF in '07 in SJ (Wings down 2-1, pull the goalie, Lang scores with 30 seconds left, Schneider wins it in OT). Great game, my wife and I waited outside the Pavillion until we saw the charter bus leave.  We followed the bus all the way to their hotel (I didn't even know where I was, I was just concentrating on following that d**n bus!)  I'm sitting outside in the car, waiting for the d**n valet to come and park it, while my wife ran inside to cut the Wings off to try and get autographs.  Her favorite player was Tomas Holmstrom.  She had a shirt she made with his name and number on it, and said what's up to a couple players until she saw Holmstrom.  She yelled out for him (mind you, this is in the lobby)  to get his autograph, and he blew right past her and walked quickly to the elevator, didn't even make eye contact.  She was so upset!  She actually got to meet Maltby (which she said is one of the nicest guys to the fans), got his autograph, and even got Bertuzzi's autograph (although she said he looked her up and down before deciding she was worth his time).  Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for the valet when she comes out with her Wings shirt w/ autographs.  She was glad she got some, but the one she cared about getting the most blew her off.  She's never felt the same about him again.

  9. when i was 12 i went to a hockey game with my 12 year old cousin and my 7 year old sister. we went over to a player and asked for a autograph (he had a marker in his hand!) and he said no and walked away. we were so mad. i didn't know anything about hockey or the players at the time so i don't know who he was. how could he say no to three little kids!

  10. nope, usually NHL players seem really down to earth, but think how hard it would be sitting down for hours in front of screaming fans signing your name.lol

  11. I've actually known a number of people who got to meet Tomas Holmstrom and they all said he was the nicest player they have ever met. They also said he was a pretty funny guy. He must have been tired or had a bad day when you guys were trying to get his autograph.  But i do know some people that said Chris Chelios wasnt that nice when they met him, but then again maybe he was having an off day too.

  12. Like I had this time where Chris Pronger had put himself in my mouth and he was ******* it like it was like my p***y or something.

  13. Unfortunately I've never met anymore, so I don't know.

But I know people who have met players.

My dad's best friend met Marc-Andre Fleury, and has met Mark Recchi many times.

He said MA Fleury is the nicest kid he has ever met, and Mark Recchi is one of the funnest people to hang out with. But that's not a bad expirence.

I also once met a man in the dentist who knew Ty Conklin. I was on my way to a hockey game with my dad, but before hand he had to go to the dentist. When he was in the back I started talking with this man who was in his late thirties or so, and he was telling me he knew Ty Conklin from back in his days in New Hampshire. He told me all these stories about the two of them. Not really a bad expirence.

My best friend takes some of the Buffalo Sabres out fishing every summer, and says those guys are really great guys.

Most hockey players are nice men from what I've heard.....well, except Correy Perry apparently. =b

  14. No but my cousin w/Dominik Hasek. In the early 90s the Sabres used to hold some practices at Sabreland (Now Hockey Outlet) in Wheatfield. Anyway haseka ang like 3 or 4players were practicing and as they exited my cousin like 5 at the time went up and asked Hasek for an autograph. And Hasek just tells him to go away and leaves. Lost all respect for Hasek after that. What a jerk.

My friends teacher actually had Todd Marchant when he was in 5th. Said he was a troube maker but good kid.

  15. I've met Ottawa Senators forward Chris Neil. He's actually a nice guy off of the ice. I got to skate around the rink with him.

  16. Yeah, the Leafs for the past 7 years I've had season tickets.

  17. I met a few Sharks players in the years of 1999-2004...all nice.

Next time I see Perry when i go to a hockey game, I will taunt him about your memory!
