  1. yup...spilt a drink on me and told me to deal with it

    huge jerk...oh well....just left...without paying for the meal ;)

  2. Yep in Denver at a Red Lobster. He spilled soda all over me and spilled the mushrooms we ordered as a started. Real nice!!!

  3. I am pregnant and diabetic. I feel that I get a dirty look from waiters for not ordering a drink. What do they really have to offer with no alcohol, sugar, or caffeine?

  4. yes i was six and she threw cfrackers and crayonms and a ball at me and they hit me n the face

  5. All the time.  They like to stop and talk to the other servers when im waiting on my food so i get to wait longer. Don't like to come back to refill my drink like they're suppose to.   Once  i went into a resteraunt and knocked some piece of paper on the floor next to my table and the waitress told me if i do it again she'll kick me out.   Don't tip them and complain to the manager. If its a small place find out who owns it and write them a letter. A hand written letter, not a typed one, they're more personal and will be taken more seriously. Maybe call if they're being real bad.

  6. most of my dining-out experiences have been very pleasant. i had one guy that rubbed me the wrong way by asking my boyfriend and me if we would be on one check. if i'm serving a table and it's just one guy and one girl, i assume it's a date, and i put them on one check, unless they request separate. is that weird? i had a feeling that it was because we're of different races, but i didn't say anything. he wasn't mean otherwise, so i think he just had a "duh" moment.

even though most of my personal experiences have been good, however, i work in the service industry, and i know servers who work alongside me who really can be jerks. particularly those cocky guys who act like they're still in highschool and want every cute girl who walks in, even if she walks in with her boyfriend, to be checking him out. young guys tend to be a******s to their male peers, unless they're already 'buddies'.

i've also encountered some s****. hosts (usually the females), both at the place where i work AND dining out. but that's the position that requires the least skill and they often hire highschool students to do, so i don't expect much from them. :/

  7. Oh yeahhhh , once i went out to dinner with a special friend that was important to me we had a nice relaxing everning .

The waitress was anything but polite , she accidentaly dropped some of the foor from the plate onto my lap and pale yellow dress . Accidents happen i know but it of been polite had she appologised for the incident cos alot wouldnt be as gracious towards her as i was.

    ( Still left a tip )

  9. Most of them are pretty nice, but I do have a pet peeve, its when a server calls your party, "you guys"  or even worse "youse guys".

As in," You guys ready for dessert?"

Or, "Guys, you guys want a drink?"

  10. One time, my hiusband and I went out to eat, and the waitress took our order, and then forgot about us! We waited for about 10 minutes for our drinks. After the drinks, it was another 10 minutes, and I flagged down another waitress and asked about our salads (we ordered dinners which included a salad). The other waitress brought them for us. Then about a minute later, our waitress brought our dinners! Then the mashed potatoes were cold, and I complained and she said they were closing soon, and there was nothing she could do about it. Asked her for bread (which in the menu said it came with bread), and she said they were out. So I guess we get screwed because it's OUR fault for not coming in sooner. So then she told me I had the attitude!! My husband had to force me from getting up and pounding her. I'm a waitress too, and you don't tell customers that they have an attitude!!!

So I did write the owner, and he sent us a gift certificate, and he wrote that he would take care of her. And he did. Never saw her again. But overall, my biggest grip is that they don't seem to pay enough attention to their tables.
