Ive always been fascinated with dreams. Not too long ago i was accused of bieng an accomplice in robbing a local crack head named Leroy. With this came lots of problems. Leroy's son was trying to kill me, becuz he believed that i robbed his house.....ect. The point is after all the drama was over i realized that i had dreamed the whole thing literally a week before hand. I remember the dream vividly even to this day. The dream (like most) did not make much sense at the time because the events in my dream were not in order. BUt nonetheless my dream was so accurate that even the police that were yelling in my face were the same police in my dream. In onepart of the dream i saw a knife on the ground and ran in terror. In reality, the "victim" of the crime tried to stab me which of course resulted in me running. crazy! i have never had a dream of this nature b4, so accurate, it was almost like a vision! has n.e1. ever had a dream thet came true? And Why do we even have dreams anyway?

  1. Well, a little while ago I had dreams of natural disasters that happened in Myanmar ( I think that's how its spelled) and earthquakes in China except in my dreams they were in different countries, but happened exactly like my dreams.

  2. Three times I have dreamt that close family members died. Although I had no way of knowing it at the time, when I had the dreams, each was in the process of being tested for life threatening illnesses. One died of that illness a few years later. The other two are still living with medical treatment.

Also once I dreamed that I was on a date with a man I knew but had not previously dated. It was a very sexual dream set in a swimming pool. The next day he asked me if I would like to go swimming with him. Did I dream that because he was thinking of asking me to go swimming, or did he call me because I dreamed that? Or was it coincidence?

  3. it's a mathematical certaintity that some people, albeit a very small percentage, will have "dreams that come true."  it's just the same as saying that, with nearly 7 billion people alive today and almost as many that have lived in the past, at least one of them will have walked exactly 9,999 paces in their lives, or lived to be exactly 25 years old, to the second, etc.

with a large enough sample size, statistical improbabilities become certainties.  do not confuse them with paranormal events.

as for why we have dreams:

scientists currently believe dreams are a mash-up of emotionally relevent events and a subconscious learning process.  I'm sure wikipedia has some relevant links, and if you have access to an online journal search engine, PSYCHinfo certainly does.

  4. Woah, I've had that too.

But mostly, I have 'visions' at night that are just of the next days casual events like someone saying something.

But its still freaky when it happens, and sometimes - in the middle of someone's sentence - I'll finish it for them, because the vision already told me what they were going to say. And I'll be somewhere I've never been before, but I recognize the scenery.

Its crazy stuff. NO ONE (No matter what any scientists say) really knows why we have dreams. Some skeptics believe that dreams are just our brain flitering out the days unnecassary thoughts, manifesting them as pictures and sounds.

But what about those dreams where you realize you're dreaming? What about reoccuring dreams? Is it possible, that these 'visions' you see at night aren't some kind of 'sneek peek' at the next days events.

...But that would have to mean that the next days events were already written....

Yikes, crazy stuff eh? You should read 'The Head Trip' by Jeff Warren. It has all sorts of unusual facts about the human brain, including dreams. Great read.
