i had an email printed in a magazine, i was commenting on the magazines online shopping service

Yes. The Daily Telegraph. at the time I was a union rep in a hospital and they printed a particularly scurrilous letter about our activities in that particular hospital.

A colleague and I wrote a reply, and, to our surprise, it was published unedited.

Just goes to show that freedom of speech can be found in some unexpected places.
