  1. Thank you Deenie, that was beautiful.  It proves love is supernatural, emphasis on the super.

  2. Lions are awesome. And yes, I'm a Leo. That makes me biased. Awesome story! :-)

I've never had a lion I released into the wild, no. But I do miss my Snowy-kitty. Had to send him away due to a sudden and severe allergy.

Paranormal part: I was thinking about lions all day today! I love it when synchronicity happens.

  3. Geez the lion just seemed like a big ole puppy dog! Yeah that was pretty emotional. And I agree its not paranormal or even alternative science. Its just some memory engrams are more deeply planted than others and repitition is key. If the people who raised him worked with the lion during his early development up to early adulthood, then they would have been deeply imgrained in the lion's memory. So it stands to reason they would have been remembered by him.

To me the question it brings up is thought in general. Social animals do not simply behave according to instinct and they do exhibit emotions. They do make decisions and they feel. Which means they think. Most likely not in any kind of language like we "conscious" humans think with.

But things probably would have reminded the lion of his caretakers, maybe a smell, colors or odd shapes in the brush that resembled the people. Therefore the lion was able to retain the memory of his former caretakers. And the behavior exhibited by the lion showed that it had some measure of feelings for the people too. We really cannot say to what degree or extent a lion feels love, but if it felt anything at all, the feelings would also helped him to retain its memories.

As for myself the only example I can think of was when I was much younger, my neighbors had a dog who they eventually gave away because they couldn't take care of him. I had known the dog for about a year or so and he was familiar with me, he knew me and liked me. But after about a year from being away from me, when I saw him again (it had gotten loose apperantly) while he responded when I called his he acted as though he were afraid of me. And the dog scared me when it got agressive and started barking at me like it was going to attack. I was only about 10 at the time so it was unpleasant - kinda the opposite of the video.

But in my case if social animals are thinking/feeling creatures who really do retain more memory than we realize, then perhaps the dog didn't forget me, it just felt abandoned.

  4. The skeptic in me has a problem with this story. To me it seems hard to believe. Not the two guys and the lion. I believe that's true. It's the born and raised in captivity. Then becoming the head of a pride in the wild.I just didn't buy it.

Then I checked it out and apparently it's true.Thank you Deenie finally someone has brought something unbelievable to the table and it's proved real.

It's not paranormal or Alternate Science in any way.

But,it is a first time ever in this section. Thanks again, for showing other believers how to do it.Next time, maybe it will be paranormal. We can only hope.

Edit I better answer the question to avoid a violation.I had a German Shepard as a teen.I was gone for a few years. When I came home the dog remembered me like I just left yesterday

Edit.Who do I believe? It's a better story with the guys.Who cares if it's true or not?

  5. Okay, you made me cry too. That was beautiful. Love truly knows no bounds. I'm gonna have to pass that on.

And whether you know it or not, I needed to see that. That written message, at the beginning, after the reunion, answered a question for me. ;)

    Thanks, Deenie!

  6. Isn't that cool that the lion and humans were able to recognize each other?

Then the lioness approached and was hanging out like she was accustomed to humans as well.

That was funny when Meredeth asked them if they were concerned about the female thinking of them as lunch meat.

  7. OMG, I got this as an e-mail a few weeks ago and I play it almost every day.  Isn't it just awesome?  I cried like a baby!  I absolutely love stuff like this.  (There's another one called "lion hugs a lady" on youtube that I saw months ago.  It was real touching too.)  I heard it was the only time they saw Christian again.  It just gave me shivers it was so cool.  So glad you alerted the rest of us to this incredible video.  I'm gonna go watch it yet again!

  8. I thought it was funny how they called Christian's mate his "wife" but I suppose with his religious upbringing he would have a platonic relationship with the other lady lions in his pride.

  9. Its beautiful x*x
