  1. haha definitely. It irritates me so much! But the semester is over and a fresh start is about to begin.

As a professor, though, I find that students want a lot more direction now than they used to.  For example, 15 or 20 years ago, when you assigned a term paper, you usually gave a general topic and a page limit.  Like a reasonable assignment was, "Film Marketing.  20 pp, double-spaced."  Now, I write a whole page description of what I want, and I still get, "Are you going to give us more information about what to write?"  Students want a full outline of exactly how the paper is supposed to be organized.  That used to be exactly what we graded people on!  It was up to the students to find the best way of organizing the information!

  4. wow, yes. so many of my teachers have done that. then they get mad if you ask about the assignment. so annoying

  5. yup, totally incomprehensible that we are left asking amongst ourselves what the question was. we can set our own standards, though.
