  1. I've had a few experiences.

Here's a funny story. At one of my military duty stations (I supported the Army), we had an ice storm. The post closed their roads and told everyone to stay home for a while. That does not apply to the forecaster on duty, though - obviously. It was a tough go of it- dropping my son off at his sitter's house and getting to shift on time with that ice. Well, the Military Police didn't want to let me on the post because of the roads! LOL! I was like, "Guys! I am the weather forecaster! I'm the one that will determine when it's safe for the commander to give the all clear!"

I actually had to debate with these guys. I finally won, but I was late for my shift.

    LOL.

  2. Only with driving.  Years ago a bad ice storm closed down interstate 287 in New Jersey for nearly two days.  All the people on their way home from work were simply stranded.

  3. Driving in the car and had to pull over and wait.. it took forever! it was kind of scary and boring.

  4. Yes one year we had this bad ice storm power was out for about a week and a tree fell down in my backyard. Actually there were a lot of trees that were knocked down because of it. It looked nice when you looked outside because everything was covered in ice! Ice Storm of 1998 !!!
