Have you ever had any hypocritical remarks about your decision during pregnancy?

My mother told me that (in a superior voice heh) "I never ate sweets or soft drinks when I was pregnant"

But she smoked a pack of cigarettes a day with me :) I do eat lollies and drink soft drink and she thinks thats bad!! hahah.

Also my SIL smokes cigs while pregnant, but won't drink coca cola! Because caffeine is "bad" for tha baby.

Yes of course. I am a coca cola addict and I smoke but stopped smoking the day I found out I was pregnant. My friend who smoked through each of her pregnancies told me it was bad for the baby to have caffeine. Crazy aint it

yea like my mother in law telling me not use my cellphone cause it would harm the baby even though she smoked like freaking half a pack a day when she was pregnant.... thats c**p

Oh goodness.. I understand where you're coming from. I visited my parents and my mother had the nerve to steal the soda I was drinking right of my hands and tell me that I should be more careful.. Whatever.. I told her to back off and return the drink or someone loses an arm haha. You just don't do that to someone 36 weeks pregnant and in a permanent bad mood ;-) Plus she has warned me everyday about eating right and all that nonsense. I have only gained 13 pounds this entire time and she thinks I'm eating too much. People need to keep their opinions to themselves. My baby is very healthy and I can't wait to see him! Just found out today I am 2 cm dilated and 70% effaced so its beginning! YAY. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

Controlled amounts of caffeine are usually fine during pregnancy. My doctor limited me to 2 small cups of coffee a day while I was pregnant.

But smoking, not cool at all.

absolutely every woman that i knew who was amom tried to Tell me what to do ,did i listen,no,i just nodded my head and agreed with them.as a single mom,2 times ,i was told  give  IT up .,or abort.did i listen ,no..I DID WHAT I WANTED TO DO AND NOT LET ANOTHER PERSON PERSUADE ME EITHER WAY.

Yeah, I've had the 'You shouldn't be eating so much junk food' from the mother, who smoked like a chimney whilst being pregnant with me.

Yep!  It was the same exact thing with my mom!  She smoked with me, but gave me c**p for missing a few prenatal vitamins.

Also (a little off topic), what really got to me was when people tried to give me advice when they had never been pregnant before!

I know a mom who told me not to vaccinate my babies for chicken pox (because of whatever hype was the going on at the time) Well, she smoked and drank while pregnant.
