If you received from dining out...did you call your county health dept to report it?

In our county (Santa Clara County otherwise known as Silicon Valley) all restaurant inspections are online. One place got busted for reserving food...Yikes...in other words as the dirtly dishes were cleared from a table ..the old food was recycled...hmmmm..

  1. never have

  2. I never have. I know people who have sworn to never eat certain types of food/go to certain (mostly fast food) restaurants again because it has made them sick.

I believe if you had serious food poisoning and needed to be hospitalised, tests can be done to see what has caused the food poisoning, especially if more than one person was affected, which can be traced back to certain foods/restaurants.

  3. yes and i sued for big money! you try!

  4. yep, ate some undercooked sausages for breakfast once at a little cafe in a tiny town and was losing them all day.

  5. no, (I live in LA) but my neighbor got food poisoning at In-N-Out

  6. yeah and I threw up and shat all over their floor, bast a rds

  7. taco bell. couldnt eat it again for like 2 years.

  8. Girrrl...I think I had that a few times...the last one was at a Denny's here in Houston...I had "bowel movements" the whole day...I never went back to that one...no, I didn't call the county health dept...

Have you ever called them? How could you prove that you had food poisoning from a specific restaurant?

  9. Yes I did but I didn't call it in.  I ordered a fish very rare, where I took a chance of food poisoning.

  10. I have never been food poisoned, never. Although I did feel a bit sick the next day BUT that was down to eating way too much and drinking Jack Daniel's and coke all night lol

  11. gave it to myself food posioning really badly i did like i was put into hospital

  12. I never have but my mom had a SEVERE case of food poisoning a few years ago.  She got it from eating raw oysters.  She ended up passing out while me and her were at a tanning salon and the paramedics had to be called.  She definitely called the county health dept.

  13. If you suspect food poisoning from a restaurant you should report it to your health department so they can track the incedents.  Food poisoning is sometimes hard to isolate because the incubation times for many foodborn illnesses is over 12 hours, sometimes up to 3 days.  Many times, people mistakenly point the finger at a restaurant they at at an hour or 2 before.  If people would report food poisoning to their health department it would be easier to track outbreaks (i.e. 7 people ate at the Taco Shack on Monday nite and got sick--we know for sure it's the Taco Shack's nasty food or dirty employees.)

  14. i have never had food poisoning at all, but all in all, it is much better if you cook at home, just to make sure that everything is clean and up to your standards.

  15. nope never

  16. yes, of my own restaurant

  17. Its funny but Ive gotten more sick at US fast food places that the little cart shops in Mexico. Long John Silvers and Dennys.

  18. All our restaurants are checked every 6 months and given inspections and the results must be posted in the windows for all to see.  If they fail they are simply shut down and not allowed to open until they pass, maybe shut down for good if there are serious violations.

Even so I rarely eat at restaurants.  I absolutely hate fast food. I can cook up a storm in no time at home.  It's the dishes I hate doing but hubby and the kids do them so it all works out!

I just look at the people working there and go ewe...especially some of those gorillas working the kitchen.  No thanks.

I'd rather go out for drinks and have chicken wings if I go out.
