Have you ever had nuisance phone calls?

I've been getting loads last couple of nights, just some complete idiot saying totally random stuff, how sad and boring!

Yes, my wife and i got the operater to tell us the phone number, we reported that to the police and then had our own number changed, The police put a stop to it though as the fellow persisted to come round banging on our door, he was fined and told to keep away or else.

had that problem to, we changed our number and  went xdirectory, also have a answer phone and then you can sort to the calls and answer only the onces you want to talk to.

Yes - when I first got a phone line into my house I had a woman calling me- it was very very distressing because my little boy would run for the phone when it rang because he thought it might be someone he needed to talk to (as kids do).

I caled BT and was told to call them immediately after the phone call and the previous number could be blocked but no trace or implication stood for the person making the calls. I chose the easier option of going ex-directory and changing numbers. Although you have to hand out new numbers to friends and family at least you have the reassurance that the next phone call wont be someone who shouts obscene comments at you. The person who calls could still go to a phone box etc

Keep getting calls asking for some asian guy, chasing debts! eversince changed number, its getting very annoying.

Yes, I got rid of the landline and went mobile only. Now if they want to mess me about it cost them more - I pick up and then put the phone on the desk and walk away..........

Yes .. I have had two this evening... but I wont tell you what I said to them... too much of a lady... they get on my nerves. They both came from somewhere abroad as well....

What is he saying? Yeah they're totally annoying. Not as bad as one I had the other morning though! I woke up to a message left on my mobile voice mail telling me I was a SL**! From someone who's voice I didn't even recognise... it's so sad! They don't have the balls to say it to your face so they hide behind a telephone receiver and think they're so big and clever!
