“Disorienting Dreams?”

Stuck in a web of foolish fancy

I have found a way to escape to h**l

A time-locked door in a forward frowning

if I shall escape they may never tell

Up and down goes the sound around us

and through the skin a needle threads

As I lay down among the thorn bush

while feline fairies dance about my head

Can’t tell which way is up or down now

how I came to this fuddle I can’t see

Now I think I am starting to wake from dreaming

man how that vision confounded me!

Have you ever had a dream which while having makes sense but upon waking you could not figure out how you though this? Well, I wanted to capture that in a poem and I hope I have succeeded…

  1. yes, one dream I caught a whale out of the ocean, I had to walk with him over my shoulder, I walked past a stadium of onlookers towards a Walmart and they were cheering for the Mets. I then took the fish to the shallow part of the ocean and swam him back to the end.

  2. I have had dreams like that. Once I was in a building and someone was offering me cake that was poisoned.  I was going to have some even though I knew it was poisoned.  In the dream it somehow made sense, but when I woke up I thought that was an extremely dumb thing for me to do.  Glad if I could help.

  3. no

  4. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  5. I think the poem is trying to explain that feeling when you're laying down just waking up and you feel like your bed is like.. side ways or something and you're falling off for a couple seconds.

  6. You have succeeded quite well - I was just going to try to formulate  my impression - when I read your explanation.  It might have been better if you had left the explanation out - let people give you their own feedback. ;-) ♥

  7. no, I havent

  8. All the time...and many times you can see things that come true

  9. Oh yes, I have strange and fascinating dreams all the time. I, too, have used them for inspiration, although it isn't easy to capture that idiosyncratic imagination found in dreams.  You have managed, however.  This is truly dreamlike, almost nightmarish if a feline fairy can ever be nightmarish. You are, as always, very creative and a touch ambiguous.  I love your work.  Thank you.

  10. it's sort of confusing to me...but good job.

i especially liked the part about the 'feline fairies'. that was very descriptive. it really gave me an image of a cat with wings. and they're dancing. but i certainly think you should have included a very detailed section about the cat's magical litter boxes, with glittery litter. see? it rhymes. and describe the cats more. are they calico? or gray? or magically colorful? you see, we don't actually know what the cats look like. and it's possible that the cats are orange or yellow. we don't know. that's why you must include that in your poem. i mean, for all we know, the cats could be invisible, and you're magic, and you don't know it, and you see them, but nobody else does. and what color are their wings? what are they eating? what is their favorite brand of kitty kibbles? why are they there? do they eat mice? what dance are they specifically dancing? the chacha? the mambo? but what i see is a magical cats, dancing around in brightly colored fluorescent underpants, with dainty magical ebony wings, and black shiny horns. except they are partially invisible. and they really like meow mix. and they're not actually wearing underpants. a cat wearing underpants? whoever heard of such a thing? you know, that's really crazy. i don't know why you would ever include that in your poem. come on, that's like borderline insane. who would even want to think about a cat wearing underpants. person, you need to brush up on your tremendous flying poem-writing skills, 'cause fella, i'll tell ya, most people would never want to think about a cat wearing underwear. and fluorescent? that's just crazy. no cat would ever wear fluorescent underpants. anyway, you just need to include many detailed descriptions about the cats. i don't even know what they look like. i think they're tabby, but you give no indication of this, so i could be wrong. are they happy? or do they not like dancing? are they good at dancing? are they healthily supplied with water and vegetables? or are they mistreated? abused? even badly burnt? are they in an animal shelter? are they crazy? are you crazy? are there huns? are the cats hungry? are the cats rabid? are they domesticated? are they thirsty? are they thrifty? are they wearing clothing? are they pretty? are they ugly? what is their lifestyle? why are they in the dream?

    ... ... ...

    i'm sorry.

    what can i say?

    i just really like cats.

    like really really.

    i mean really really REALLY.

nobody likes cats more than me.

    except for you.

    but we're different, you see.

    you like cats with wings.

    i like cats.

    big difference.

  11. alright yea i get what you are saying, and yes i have had that expirence, but i don't think you totally grasped the concept of it. Just try to relax and think it through carefully. Don't force the words. Let them come to you.
