  1. I don't know if it qualifies as tartare- But I eat raw beef all the time. Just something about it I feel like I need to.

  2. Yes, because it's tasty. You begin with fresh, low-fat ground beef and add salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Some people like a bit of grated onion, too. Let it stand a little while before eating.

  3. I order when I'm in France. It tastes fabulous. I always eat my beef rare, so I'm not bothered by it. It seems to have such a pure beef taste, even with all the yummy stuff mixed into it. Plus, in France it usually comes with French Fries - can't go wrong with that combo!

Beef carpaccio is another way to serve raw meat - it's slice paper thin and often with parmesan cheese. Interestingly enough, it tastes quite different than tartare but is equally as good.

  4. yes both beef and venison because I tried the beef one years ago and liked it. The venison one as something new and different. I like trying different types of food tried sushi just a few months ago and like that also.

  5. When it's on the menu I usually order it, both because it is a good test of a restaurants skills and, because if it is well made, I enjoy it.   Note that the ingredients include the raw yolk of an egg which is generally set in half an eggshell on top of the pile of meat.  Looks really pretty.
