I've had this happen to me several times in my life and thought everyone did. That is until I asked everyone in my family if they had had the same experience -- ever. Only my mother has had the experience and it was shortly after the death of my younger brother. Oddly enough, the last time this happened to me, it happened the same week to my daughter in the same house -- and she was terrified. I'm wide awake when this happens, but terrified to look at the end of the bed because I knew no one could be there. Also, when I was little, I thought it was my parents sitting on the bed watching over me, but they said they never did that -- and the door was closed. Tell me this is a weird sensation our bodies get.

  1. unfortunetly i cant tell u its a weird sensation its actually a ghost sittin on the end of your  bed i get it all the time when i was little i used to think it was my cat but then she passed away and well it was still there....ussually if u move around a little the ghost will leave though

    also:

ussually ghosts that sit on the edge of the bed are very kind and wont hurt u they just want to see how it feels to rest again they wont hurt u.....although the one time i swear it tickled my foot(this freaked me out b.c my grandma had just died and she was always tickling me)

  2. It's happened to me. Many weird things happen to me at night, though ;)

  3. i get this too,

once i even thought i heard breathing,

i just laid in my bed, and pulled the sheets over my head.

guess it just tells we arent alone in this world.

  4. As weird as the sensation may be, all sensation exists purely in your brain.  It is well-documented that the brain can create sensations that aren't based on input from other organs (for example, consider dreams).

You perceived something that wasn't there.

  5. This is a common reported event by many people and as others have said there can be a natural explanation for this activity I have had clients report report this very same thing as well as a overwhelming sense of love in the room and the sensation of being hugged.I truly believe that people are visited by loved-ones from time to time for what ever reason the have for this visitation maybe feelings of guilt or sadness or lonieness by the person experiencing this activity I cannot say for sure. But yes I believe this can at times be attributed to the paranormal

  6. I cant tell you this is just a weird sensation. The possibility is that there is an explanation for this sensation. But your gonna have to look for it. When I was  kid, we lived in a house in the middle of nowhere. no trees or anything next to the house. At night I could clearly hear something very heavy walk across the roof of the house. With no way for a heavy animal to get on top of the roof at least 15 feet off the ground, and no birds weighing over 100 lbs with the ability to land on the roof, what was it that was walking very heavily on my roof? I will never know! I weigh in at about 185 lbs. and I don't walk anywhere near that heavily. At a much later date, years later to be exact, I asked about this with one of my brothers, and he said he experienced the same thing. I have experienced sleep paralysis, and I know it was not that. So what are you experiencing, check it out, investigate it, dont be afraid to look. Keep a journal as to when this happens and the circumstances around this "visit".Maybe you will be able to pin down a reason for it. I dont know for sure.

  7. I have not experienced that, but I have felt as if I was being watched.  I attribute that feeling to my imagination.  What are you attributing your feeling to?

  8. I'm a medium, so that happens to me a lot. My main spirit guide, sits on the corner of my bed sometimes at night.

As a child, when you felt that presence sitting on the corner of your bed, watching over you...I got the sense it was someone indeed doing exactly that--watching OVER you. No doubt your guardian angel or spirit guide.

The more recent one, when you were too scared to look toward the end of your bed... I get the sense of a lost loved one. I want to say a grandparent, I feel an almost older, motherly figure. Did you lose someone close to you when you were little?? She doesn't want to scare you, but she watches over you while you sleep, and your daughter as well, checkes in on you. I think she also just wants you to know she's there, I get the sense that's her way of saying, "I'm here", in a really subtle way (although it doesn't feel subtle to us).

yeah, I also get cats that sleep with me, spirit cats (we don't have live cats anymore). Most nights I feel something hop on the end of the bed and walk up my body and sit on my pillow.

just know that you're safe. There's nothing in your house that will hurt you; you are indeed being watched OVER (as opposed to being watched). It's someone soft and quiet and loving.

  9. This happens alto to me.  I can be anywhere and then I suddenly get the real strong feeling that someone is watching me or was just with me and sometimes it does get unnerving but this does happen to people and it is nothing we have done wrong in our lives to bring this about. I thought at times that is was just my imagination and then other things started to happen to me at an early age and that was to have my dreams come true for myself or for others and then I would say something before the person I was had a chance to say the same thing.  I found out that I was a Sensitive.  Sometimes I wish this would stop and yet it has helped other people.  I have been on an investigation before and it happens alto during that time also.  I felt someone was near and told someone to take a picture now and we have gotten some very clear full bodied apparitions.  So, there may be a chance you are a Sensitive and if you have experienced anything thing that I have.

  10. It's not uncommon, but I'm not sure it's just a sensation either.  If you're looking for an excuse, I know that our bodies sometimes create sensations when we're not quite asleep yet.  I know you stated that you were wide awake, but depending on how long you'd been lying in bed, maybe your brain had started to relax and go into that state, despite you're being awake.

Again, if you're looking for an excuse other than the obvious, that's the closest I can think of.

  11. it happens to me all the time, it feels like the cat is walking across the bed, sometimes a little heavier, i always look up but the cat isnt in the house...and no im not alseep when it happens, im usually watching tv on my side, when i start to feel it,  i dont know what it is...

  12. glad to know I'm not the only one. when I was younger ,we moved into a new house. I felt the end of my bed go down. at first I thought it was a animal that ..got in .But when I looked ,it was my gran mother .who I saw once  only when I was five this type of experience and others have happened to me and other members of my family also.I knew with certainty when my mother in law was going to pass away a day before it happened

  13. this is not uncommon, my guess is that its a form of hypnopompic hallicination, a hallicination which occurs as one is going to sleep.

If this is true, then it would occur more frequently at times when you are stressed, changing sleep patterns, or sleeping in a different location.

The recent death of a loved one might cause enough emotional stress to stimulate a hypnopompic hallucination.

  14. You are not alone it has happend to me too.
