It's just a half of a second but it's really scary sounding and it's like a voice or something. What is it and where does it come from? Is it a virus?

  1. No it's not a virus.  This is what is commonly referred to by us computer junkies as the ghost in the machine.  The machines that make the integrated circuits that go inside computers are extremely sensitive.  If someone opens the door that leads into the maintenance chamber of the machine while it is making one of those circuits while they are talking then the machine can leave an imprint of the sound waves on the part of the circuit it is currently working on.  From that point on whenever that part of the circuit is utilized by the computer you can faintly hear the "recording" of the people talking.

Ok, I can't go on.  That's entirely made up if you couldn't tell.  However, it is likely that your computer speakers are picking up some kind of interference.  My laptop does that if I have the volume all the way up and the "Line In" unmuted.  You could try muting the "Line In" in your volume control panel and see if that makes it go away but it could also be the speakers themselves.

Also, my Motorola V170 interferes with my desktop computer's speakers.  From what I've read this is caused more often by GSM phones.
