No i never have, but ID theft is common these day, because of cell phones.  People give out all there information such as DOB, address, phone number, SSN, credit card account numbers,  etc and someone could be listening and writing all information down, cell phones are not secure lines and information can be picked up by other electronic devices..

Once ID theft occurs you must contact the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) make a police report, notify the social security administration, and you will need to show proof to IRS.

One big hassle, beware of your surroundings.

Yes. It happened while we were dining out and my wife had left her purse in the car. The window was smashed, the purse was taken.

Arriving home, we called all the credit card companies and our bank to report the theft. The next day we called our auto and homeowner's insurance companies to file reports.

We also bought a credit monitoring service.
