  5. I just read it. I thought it was elections in Turkey, seems we also have evolution in Turkey. And we are what?........ 2007 AD?

  6. In turkey huh? oh well.....

  7. Yes. There is a family in Turkey that cannot walk on only their two feet, but must use their hands as well. There are several theories as to why they are quadrupeds. Some researchers believe that there is a gene for bipedalism, while others believe that this family has a genetic mutation. Their story is very interesting.

  8. The New Scientist magazine has an article about the family in Turkey. Three of the five children walked mainly on all fours, only occasionally going upright. However, it has since been explained further. The family is consanguineous, that is, the parents are closely related, and the children are mentally retarded, and were not shown how to walk properly, and were not corrected early in life. So they continued to walk on all fours. The two mainly upright children have less retardation and the parents also walk upright. The four quadrupeds were trained and subsequently began to walk upright more often than not.

There is no genetic throwback, just a lesson about not marrying your cousin.

  9. They're not really quadrupeds, merely an atavistic throwback to the apes.  Most of us simply call them knuckle draggers.
