Have you ever heard of holding someone with your hands pulled back SUPER tight into their stomach?

Back when I was a boy I had a cousin, a teenage girl 11 years older than myself, who always used to hold me on her lap with her hands pulled way back SUPER tight into my stomach. I mean, with her hands kept cinched back into my stomach a good one to two inches deep!

And I really liked getting held like this. No idea how or when this custom got started, we never talked about it, we just did it.

I also initiated my babysitter into this practice of "tight holding." It was an easy way to keep me entertained, and also to hold me still during her favorite TV shows. So whenever she came over to babysit she would "tight hold" me on her lap. She was a big tall sturdy farmgirl, and I cannot possibly exaggerate how ULTRA tight she used to keep her hands pulled back into my stomach.

Q: Is anyone else familiar with this way of holding someone tight, with your hands kept pulled back INCHES deep into their stomach?

  1. No, but deep pressure is calming to the sensory nervous system...perhaps this us why you liked it because it felt good-it was calming to your system.

There are holding therapies out there, but I don't know anything about them.

    Good luck!
