  1. it's to do with the hearing range, as you get older higher frequencies cannnot be heard as well

  2. because as you get older your abilty of hearing decreases by however many sound hertz(?)or whatever is used in mesuring the frequency of sound. It's like how dogs can hear higher pitch sounds than humans can. My friend had a mosquito ringtone (what they're called) and played it in all of our classes and the teacher couldn't hear but I could and it got so annoying.

  3. When I was younger i had it too. It is very high-pitched so thats why over 21 yrs can't hear it. I'm not an expert on it but it has something to do with pitch.

  4. yes..lose high pitch acumen with age.

  5.           There's a robot like that at a Home Show in Japan somewhere. Kyoto, I think. It's set up on a massive screen and when someone under 21 goes near it, it gives off a shrill alarm that only they can hear, causing them to get away from it.

It's because as you get older, you lose part of your hearing, and you also tend to focus more on the big sounds, the main ones that are relevant to what you're doing, rather than small ones, which is why adults find it easier to tune out background noise, but kids find it easier to tune out large sounds. (How many teenagers do you know who study with music on? Now compare that to how many adults you know who do the same thing.)

  6. What kind of sound?  Kids are better hearing than adults.  Elder people can't hear sound/voice very well as younger people.

  7. the reason only kids can hear it is because, as you get older, your ears get worse. kids can hear more ranges of sound than adults. but that only works for older grown ups.

  8. Yes, it's a beeping sound. Kids have good hearing but as people get older it gets weaker and weaker.

  9. I'm 41 and it's true I can't really hear it. What it sounds like to me is a slight vibration in my ear but I don't actually hear the tone. It's like the sound of a fly buzzing on the other side of the room.

You too will one day not hear the tone. It's a natural part of aging to lose the higher frequency range of sound.

  10. I've got the same thing on my phone... and it works most of the time.

It's all to do with your range of hearing deteriorating as you get older:

I'd be careful though.. my history teacher has ears like a fox and kids have been busted many a time

  11. As you age you lose part of your hearing
